I really didn’t have any desire to go back, as I’m not a big gambler, but one of my co-workers insisted I go and not to miss the Buffet. I remember visiting Derby Lane years ago and having fun each time I was there. If you're looking for a fun evening in a nice atmosphere (especially if you're on vacation & you need a break from the beach because of a sun burn!) try Derby Lanes! The Adopt A Greyhound agencies often have retired race dogs to pet also. The kids love seeing the dogs run! You can even go up to the staging area & get pretty close to them. Admission is free! We see lots of families here. We always go home with a few bucks left in our pocket! The race program clearly explains all wagers & odds. We stay for 10 races & bet $4 per race on Quinellas (pick 1st & 2nd place dog in either order)& buy a couple drinks. We prefer to sit outside in the covered stands. There are screens by the tables so you can keep an eye on the races. We've had some good sandwiches here & the wait staff is very friendly. There are snackīars & restrooms throughout and also, a nice restaurant with a good variety of choices. We've never played poker, but the poker room is always busy. We love watching the greyhounds but there is also simulcast here of many dog & horse tracks all over the country. The infield is perfectly landscaped with lush grass & colorful flowers. We've been going to Derby Lane for 20 years! It is ALWAYS clean & impeccably well maintained.
